"Shivers" by Rachael Williamson

They say shivers mean
a sign of fear or doubt unseen.
But mine appear when you draw near—
a feeling deep, sincere, and clear.

Down my spine, they softly glide,
whenever you are by my side.
Not from cold or anxious dread,
but from the thoughts inside my head.

Ima, it's you I long to claim,
To whisper softly your sweet name.
You make me tremble, not by force,
But by a love I can't divorce.

I dream of us in peaceful bliss,
Sharing laughter caught in every kiss,
Dancing slow beneath the stars,
No distance wide, no emotional scars.

But dreams are dreams, and I awake—
To find it’s more than I can take.
Still, I hope, while gently sinking…
Held by nothing but wishful thinking.
