Life — born in boundless joy,
Yet it ends in floods of tears,
Leaving me to taste the first bitter ache of grief…
The grief of losing my only grandfather,
Who slipped away without a final goodbye,
Leaving behind only memories —
Fragments of a life
Soon to be lost
In the quiet drift of time.
But still, I hold him in the silence,
In the smile of morning light,
And in the strength he passed down to me.
Though time may blur his face,
His love will never fade —
It lives on, quietly,
Inside of me.
