"GROWTH" by Rachael Williamson

"GROWTH" by Rachael Williamson

In each moment,

My racing heart

Seeks to find

Freedom away...

Far away

From this cage

In which my smile

has been trapped.

Yes, trapped.

For into maturity,

I've grown overnight.

My mind,

Once carefree,

Has into

A chest of decisions,

Turned.

When every choice

Leads to yet another

For goals to be realized,

How can that carefree

Smile of innocence

And adolescent mischief

Be mine again?

If only I knew,

I wouldn't ask.

For a question

of a young mind

Almost turned grey

Seeks saving grace.
